Title: Clay and ceramics gallery June / July
Post by: jille on June 20, 2017, 07:58:48 AM
Hello, is there anyone out there?  ;)

I could do with some advice regarding my new pots please  :).

These are low fired in a saggar inside the garden incinerator bin. I love the effect and they are so tactile but I'm wondering if the fact they can't be used for food or hold liquid might put potential buyers off. They could put a small glass container inside if they wanted to use them.
I'd love your thoughts

They are gorgeous  :D personally not being able to hold liquid or food wouldn't put me off.

Stunning! Apparently you can seal with a tile sealant I was told on my raku course but I haven't tried it.

I didn't know that. When I did a raku class he said you could spray with a matt laquer from Halfords, I have some but I wanted a sheen on these pots.

I'm thinking of making a raku kiln

I would buy them as they are - I collect pots like this for pens, bits and pieces etc, and they look wonderful.

That's what I would use them for, but I quite like empty pots too

Lol - I made a very basic coiled pot recently, made it into a turret ... now there is a pot that will stay empty!  ;D

I got my lamp finished, made an oval shade for it. I love the way it came out.
