Clay and ceramics April / May
« on: April 09, 2016, 03:05:27 PM »
Some paintings inspired by my time living in Yorkshire, they are overglaze enamels on a ceramic support aka a tile :)

And here are my plant pot birds, I hoped to make these for Etsy but the metal rod makes them awkward for posting. I do have hanging ones in the kiln now though.

And here is the tile mural , my customer loved it. Sorry about my feet being  in the shot, I had to get up on a chair to get it all in :)

Thank you ladies. I have been full of self doubt lately but I think I may have had my nose too close to the grind stone for a while. I want to explore making some new stuff, maybe I will find the time soon

Jill, I can honestly say that you are the one artist I truly envy for their talent - you have absolutely no need for self doubt.  Although it's probably part of your creative process!  ;D

Aww thanks Sue. I think we are all critical of our own work, and I have been so busy and drained. But now after a couple of day off I have ordered some clay and I want to explore new ideas

The mural is drop dead fantastic Jill. I believe the more of ourselves we put into our work the more self doubt we feel. Time off to work on something completely new that is not a commission or a way to make "Something that will sell" (Which is i think what I do sometimes) will give you a recharge and send you buzzing! I can't wait to see what you make.

Thanks Julia, I'm getting the spring cleaning done, it's a good way to think and let new ideas flow. Then once my clay arrives I will be ready.
