Tiffany technique - solder
« on: December 01, 2014, 09:11:52 PM »
Hello!   ;D I have a quick question about solder. I have been researching tiffany technique for use in jewellery. I want to buy some solder, but want to make sure I get the right stuff. Apparently lead free doesn't always mean it's absolutely safe for jewellery. I saw recommendations for brands (Silvergleem; Canfield?). Do any of you use tin solder in your work or know a safe brand or type I should look for? I'm after actual tin solder like you'd use in stained glass, but safe for jewellery.

Thanks so much!

Hi Leah, I've not used it but this one says it's suitable for Jewellery. If you give them a ring they're very helpfull.

That's a boat load of solder! Thank you, Ruthie. I'll bookmark it.
