Lampwork/fusing commission - masquerade
« on: January 17, 2016, 07:36:46 PM »
Hi peeps, sorry long time no see.

I'm on the committee of the International Women's Club Stuttgart.
This year our charity ball had a masquerade theme. Cute eh?
I normally donate a piece of jewellery to the blind bid auction.
Previous pieces have always gone down a treat.
This year though, I want to make a necklace that matches the theme.

I'm looking for a sculptural "masquerade mask" in glass, probably about 5 cm end to end, with a hole at each end (so it can be secured to a chain).
It's a challenge, maybe would be better fused?

I'm open to suggestions, I'll listen to technicalities and proposals.
Budget for this "bead" is probably about 20€ - if that's too little, then Let me know... of course since the piece will be auctioned to raise money for charity (a women's shelter in Stuttgart) i need to live I hope that the piece will sell for a lot more than what it cost to make! Hahah!
Having something matching the ball theme I think will make it a more profitable, memorable piece that people will be willing to bid on. I'm happy to advertise the bead maker at the charity ball as well. They always have a list of sponsors, and I can put you alongside myself (SmittenKitten.de)

Anyhow, let me know if I'm asking the impossible - or if anyone can help.

Thanks
nic

Can't promise but I have been doodling masquerade masks in my sketch book for months in the 'one day I will make one in glass' mode, if you don't mind a prototype I will give it a go :P
