Trauma Teddy Pilot Project for Metropolitan Police
« on: December 29, 2015, 01:47:18 PM »
My lovely friend and neighbour Lorraine is a member of the Middlesex Federation WI. She has launched a project to make Trauma Teddies. The project is currently a pilot scheme that aims to provide Teddies for the Metropolitan Police in Hillingdon, who are often the first on the scene at Road Traffic Accidents and Domestic Violence/Abuse calls, the means to pacify a child in a traumatic situation. It is thought that they could need as many as 50 teddies per month. If the pilot is successful it will be rolled out to other police forces around the country.

Ruby and I are going to learn to knit together so that we can make and donate teddies.

Here is a link to the Trauma Teddies album on the Middx WI Page on Facebook

Also please feel free to email Lorraine for patterns and more information if you feel like getting involved. lorraineareed@gmail.com

It'll be sewing for me, but I will pass this on to a couple of knitting friends.  :)

I have started to teach myself to knit this evening, it's not going well  :D

You are a fab Kumi teacher Kat, I'd never have picked it up from illustrations. Sue is going to come over and help me crack knitting :)
