Thanks all  :-* Julia, it is a silver birch seed, I was working out in the garden and the air is full of seeds at the moment. Wasn't planning to incorporate it, think it might be a bit small and fragile...

Will show you the finished piece once I'm sure it IS finished - it's in that awkward half-way state at the moment where I've assembled all the bits and established that the engineering works OK, but can't decide whether to leave it as it is or carry on and add more bits  :-\

I wonder if it could be set in resin and immortalized that way. It so obviously wants to be part of this make!

But I have no idea how you would even go about that. Shame really, I fancy the idea of working serendipity into makes, and found objects, Mark Dion style. A necklace of curiosities. No drawers required.  ;D

I love found objects in beadwork too, in fact most of this piece is found objects, just not seeds...

Have put it on one side while I mull over whether it's finished or not. Meanwhile I have been ditting about making sparkly stuffs for craft fairs:

Been making more sparklies. Think I got a bit carried away tho  ::)

Had forgotten how much fun these 'lantern' earrings are to make

and I think red and gold is such a Christmassy colour combination, I am not usually 'into' Christmas this early, it must be the rum and brandy fumes from this year's Christmas cake, which is already marinating nicely... anyone fancy coming round for tea on Boxing Day?  ;D
