what stringing material?
« on: June 27, 2014, 07:05:38 PM »
Guys what is the best stringing material stuff to use when stringing a ton of heavy lampies into a necklace please? I want to combine lampies and pearls which have very small holes.

Could you maybe double or triple a length of tiger tail for added strength?

I like softflex for pearls  as its strong and  has nice drape to it.  Beadalon is good too - very strong.

Jo, the silver one I loaned you would do the job (bit expensive though!) but that gives you the general idea as to what you need.  I probably have something here.  But Leigh got home today, so it would have to be Sunday x

I'm no expert but I restrung a friend's lampie and seed bead necklace using softflex and it draped nicely,  crimps would give up before the softflex

Softflex is lovely stuff - you could double crimp for strength but don't forget to put a breakpoint into the clasp assembly  ;)
