Anyone Make Soap
« on: November 11, 2013, 08:22:51 PM »
I have been looking on ebay and etsy for Soap on a Rope. I dont want novelty ones, just a nice long lasting soap with a good sized rope, at a decent price. Can anyone help?

My Mum used to make gorgeous cold pressed soaps but I don't think she has a while. Pretty sure she's never made soap on a rope though xx

It has crossed my mind, but it would set me off on another craft.

:) :). Not nearly as expensive as lampworking, though !!  Probably find a reasonable starter kit online and you could pick your own scent :)

Have a look at melt and pour soaps Ilona, much less kit required than other kinds of soap  ;)

I have done in the past Ilona, but I got rid of most of my stuff. You could try Zesty Soap on etsy, I can vouch that their soaps are delicious as I meet them at my Xmas craft fair. Dont know if they do any on a rope but they make it from scratch so I'm sure they would be helpful

Melt and pour would be a good way to go, you'd only need a couple of things so not necessarily a whole new hobby (though it did progress me on to making it from scratch!) melt and pour, rope, scent and poss. colour. Not sure if you'd even need a mould, if you could pour some into two flexible container like yoghurt pots, and then hand shape around the rope before fully hardened?
