All about FIMOŽ Competition

I am pleased to announce the very first “all about FIMOŽ” prize competition There will be a great FIMOŽ prize up for grabs every month until Christmas 2011 and all the information that is collected will be turned in to a brilliant resource on FIMOŽ polymer modelling clay for the forum.

The Rules

Showcase your FIMOŽ creations and share information, hints, tricks and working tips about all things FIMOŽ and FIMOŽ branded in this competition thread to be in with a chance of winning a fabulous prize.

Every time you post an image of your work or share a tip or trick about working with FIMOŽ hobby and creative products your name will be entered in to the prize draw.

Sharing an image of your work will earn one entry. Each tip or trick you share will earn you two entries. You may enter as many times as you like. The winners name will be drawn on the last day of every month.

Any information you share here may be used in future literature or online resources by STAEDTLER (UK) Ltd. Images of your work will not be used for promotional activities by STAEDTLER (UK) Ltd. without seeking your permission first.

Just to get the party started!

I know I've posted it somewhere else, but I am proud of it, hehe!

Not really a tip or trick, but just a bit of advice really: Take your time with your work! I am one who will hurry to make as much as possible in the shortest amount of time and because of this I do end up making some rubbish. This however took me probably about 5 hours, and I enjoyed every minute of it! And it turned out better than I could've hoped. A little bit of patience goes a long way!

oh wow!  I gave up with the fimo almost before I started.  I have a cupboard full of fimo and kato-clay - plus the pasta roller and stuff - but I can't do it  :'(

Maybe you'll get some inspiration here Di. I'm running the comp so can't enter but plan to do some kind of tutorial as my offering to the table each month ;D

like Di i have a cupboard full of fimo that i have never really used (i had a go once but got frustrated because the clay was too "sticky" i've now learnt that clay can be refrigerated after conditioning to stiffen it up a bit again!) i found a tutorial for mica shift the other day though and am now desperate to have a go, so hopefully i might have something to show in here at some point in the future!

And here's a oldie but a goodie from the clay world - when you're using a cookie cutter with a sheet of clay (for pendants etc.), put clingfilm over the clay first in order to achieve a nicely bevelled edge.
