what do you do with your broken beads?
« on: April 02, 2012, 10:11:59 AM »

I've had an idea which involves using a gorgeous bead that has broken and would otherwise be destined for the bin. My own beads aren't special so I'm on the cadge, if you have a bead you would be throwing away I'd  like to try something with it. I think it will work but can't be sure until I try. So if you have a broken bead that can become part of my experiment I'd be very grateful ...............mmmmwwwwahhhhahaha

Thanks Sue, I'm after something that's broken down the centre so i can try fusing on porcelain, it will have to go to 800C so any raised detail will flatten out. There's always a compatibility risk but enamel acts as a buffer. There's only one way to find out ant that's to try.

Sue I just pm'e ya, I would prefer them broken down the middle, Laney says she has some so if you don't have any just ignore my  pm
off to pm you now Laney.
If it works it's a service i could offer to beaders or i can do a tute. I would be gutted if i made a lovely bead and it broke so it could be a way of saving them from the bin
